Our Chapter

At the Greater Olympia chapter, we advocate for sustainability, biodiversity, and equity in the food system by supporting local food producers, hosting educational events, and encouraging people to grow, purchase, and eat local and seasonal foods.

Our Values

We believe that the food we eat should taste good. It should also be produced in a way that doesn’t harm the environment, animal welfare, or human health. And its producers should receive fair compensation. Read more about why we love this work.

Our Focus

For many years, Slow Food Greater Olympia has supported local farmers, educated the community about the benefits of local food, promoted biodiversity, and provided members with ways to enjoy local and heritage foods through social connections.

We have also supported local organizations with shared values, such as farmland preservation and backyard gardening.

Today, we continue to do all of this with a focus on the stories and work of farmers of color and on equity, inclusion, and justice in the food system.
